Everyone needs to slow down and take a little breather every once in a while, so here are some renewing & simple things to add to this new and dear month of November…
Collect sweaters, leaves, notes, thoughts, prayers, photographs, recipes, teas, adventures, fuzzy socks, stories, holy cards… the list can go on!
collect moments that make you happy.
Keeping a Commonplace Book or a Journal.
Keeping a small booklet to fill with stories, thoughts, doodles, ideas, prayers, or a bunch of little different things is pretty special to look back on after it’s all filled up!
Good old handwritten letters are so rare nowadays…
And who doesn’t love receiving a piece of mail… that isn’t a bill. Really though, it feels pretty exciting to read another’s thoughts they want to share with you!
A Bit of Self-care…
Everyone needs to take some time to care for themselves every once in awhile! Taking some time of your day to relax, renew, or reflect can make a giant difference in your mental, spiritual, and emotional health, especially if you share some of it with Jesus… So go ahead and take a half-hour just for you, read, write, take a nap, sing, dance, ANYTHING… take some time to care for your body and soul.
Take a trip to a farmers market, coffee shop, flea market, a little diner, a park, or even to a retreat… get out and enjoy some different surroundings! Go somewhere you’ve never been to before! Meet someone new! Do something you love.
Be present in a new place.
Visit a Church You’ve Never Been to.
Go somewhere for mass, confession, a holy hour, or just to sit and discover a new place!
Find Jesus in a new home.
To me, this month feels like a month I need to challenge myself, offer up more, and purge unnecessary things in my life.
I have to many things in the way of my relationship with God. My priorities aren’t straight, and I’m full of anxieties and fear because of my lack of effort.
I’d like to challenge myself to fast, offer prayers up, pray deeper/more than I have been, and spend more time with Jesus than my phone, especially when it only holds me in a distraction that makes things worse…
So join me in a month of change and a month of learning!
Thanks for reading friends! I hope that some of these ideas have sparked a little inspiration for this new month! And if you have any prayer intentions or comments, never be hesitate to reply below!
